Private Worlds (1935) was the film that cemented Boyer's standing as a leading man in American movies. The movie was a moderate hit at the time, although reviews were mixed. Its tale of doctors Boyer and Colbert was ahead of its time, although appears dated today. The two stars give good, restrained performances, and are solidly backed by Joel McCrea and Joan Bennet as inmates of a mental institution.
