When Tomorrow Comes (1939) re-teamed Boyer with Irene Dunne, following the great success of "Love Affair." Ms. Dunne plays a waitress and Boyer a famous concert pianist who fall in love but are not destined to be together. It seems Boyer has a wife (Barbara O'Neill) who is not mentally stable, although in moments of clarity she does state that she will not give up her husband. "When Tomorrow Comes" was well-received, but did not compare favorably with its predecessor, admittedly a very hard act to follow. It is however a stylish love story and well worth seeing for the excellent performances of the two stars.
