In Appointment for Love (1941) Boyer's Andre Cassil is a successful playwright who considers himself free-thinking until he falls for strong-minded physician Jane Alexander (Margaret Sullavan).
The two marry on impulse, but their ideas of what to expect from wedded bliss differ substantially. Jane's idea is for the two of them to retain separate apartments and meet only once a day - leading one to wonder why she bothered with nuptials at all....
Andre wonders the same thing, but sets about making his wife jealous in hope that she will come around to his way of thinking.
