Boyer with Ann Blyth

A Woman's Vengeance (1947) is a neatly done melodrama with Boyer the victim of a "hell hath no fury" scenario.

Taken from an Aldous Huxley story "The Giaconda Smile", it tells the story of an innocent man convicted of his wife's murder.

Boyer co-stars with an earnest Ann Blyth as his young second wife (pictured left), and with Jessica Tandy in a quite electrifying performance as the woman who takes some very effective vengeance.

An enchanted Janet (Jessica Tandy) takes Henri's casual flirting seriously -- most unfortunately for him, as it turns out.

A frantic Henri is restrained by prison guards after hearing Janet's cold tale of what really happened to his first wife.
