Many thanks to Colman fan Albert Annunziata for contributing this photo of
Colman's birthplace.
Albert writes: "The original address was: Woodville, Sandycombe Road
#156, Richmond,
but it is now known as Broomfield Road, #7.
According to 1895 Census records, the household of Charles and Marjorie (neé
Fraser) Colman
also comprised: a sister Edith, a brother Eric, of course Ronald (or Roland
Charles, as he was christened),
Amelia Mullins (maid), and Emma, also a maid.
As Charles Colman
was a silk merchant, this was a fairly well-to-do upper middle-class household.
It was a real thrill being there. Very quiet and peaceful."
