Love Cagney, but did anyone watch the TCM tribute to John Garfield yesterday.Alot of people dont know who John Garfield even is. This guy could flat out act. Was a terrific actor. he was at warners at the same time as Cagney.

There has been no before or since who can even come close to the magnitude of talent that was James Cagney. I love him not only for the man he was on screen, but even more for the person he was off screen; a gentle soul who truly made the world a better place through his humanitarianism. He was also hot, although maybe not by "Hollywood" standards, but he could light my fire any day with that red hair and green eyes. Geez, if only there were men like that today. It's great to know that this website is here, and it is the best one by far -- keep up the good work! I hope that eventually all of his movies (especially the early ones) will be available, because I intend to get every single one. It would also be great if someone would come out with some t-shirts with either pictures of him or scenes from his movies on them.

He is the very definition of the word, "charisma." There is no way to ignore him when he is on the screen and one wouldn't want to even try. He is the best actor of any generation. Period. I've loved him my whole life and only wish I'd been born sooner, as many others have said. Thank you for giving him his due here on your wonderful site!

James Cagney is the best. It would take a lot of talent to play him; more than anyone I can think of in Hollywood today. He was a natural and he was unique. I can hardly take my eyes off him when he's on the screen.
Thanks for the site! It means a lot to Cagney fans like me for him to be honored and remembered.

I absolutely adore james Cagney, I love my old movies,I love all the old stars from the golden era, however no-one even comes close to Cagney.
I rememberd when he died, in86, I fell to pieces as if I had lost a close freind or family member. I think I still mourne the fact that I did not live back then, I would have found a way to meet him!!!
I named my daughter after him, she is Irish- "Erin Cagney"
Yankee Doodle Dandy is my favorite,
I love all his gangster movies but I always cry when he dies
I am glad for this web site, It is nice to know people still know who he is and love him. best actor, I can not think of anyone who could portray him.
Does any one know if he had children I can never find anything on that!
