Discovered James Cagney when the BBC ran a series of his films in the late 1960s. (Had always been a devotee of the old black and white films on tv, but had previously inclined more towards Cary Grant and screwball comedy). Was completely overwhelmed by Cagney's energy, personality and total dynamism. Now, as a 55-year-old mother with two grown-up sons I am still very much a fan and was delighted to see from your website that I am not alone! A recent long stay in hospital for a stem-cell transplant saw me taking in DVDs of 'Yankee Doodle Dandy' and other Cagney films for morale-boosting purposes. My all-time favourite Cagney moment - or indeed, all time favourite moment from any film - which moves me every time I see it, is the 'Give My Regards to Broadway' scene from 'Yankee Doodle Dandy'.

I absolutely love this site! It's fantastic! I have always, since I was very little, loved classic films. Though I'm only 15, I think I'd qualify to be a die-hard fan of Jimmy. I literally cannot get enough of him, and if my family wouldn't look at me as being an idiot, I'd through a b-day party for Jimmy every year as well, like Frances here. I think that's great, Frances. Jimmy's b-day is very special to me, not all because it's the great Jimmy's b-day, but also because it's the day before mine! Anyway, this is a wonderful site. I enjoy it so much! But also I simply enjoy just learning everything related and remembering to James Cagney.
