Dear Ms. Robinson-Sanchez,
I am in the middle of reading your grandfather's ALL MY YESTERDAYS and I could not wait to express to you how much I am enjoying the experience. There are but a handful of autobiographies that have left me with the feeling that I have actually met and, not only listened to but in a strange and unexplainable way, talked with the author.
As a aging student of theatre who has marveled at Mr. Robinson's performances on film, it is wonderful to read of his theatre roots.
I am finding so much personal relevancy in his obsevations and related experiences and I just wanted to express my appreciation for him to you. I envy all who knew him or saw him onstage live.
My best to you and yours,
DJ Lee

Response:   Dear Mr. Lee,
What wonderful words! Eddie's talent doesn't diminish with time..Great art transcends it and his love of the
theatre was one of passion.
Eddie was a member of the famous Theatre Guild in New York City.
He turned down Irving Thalberg and an MGM contract (an enormous amount of money) in order to continue acting on stage. When his last play did not draw an audience, he proclaimed: "I have been true to the Theatre, but who has been true to me?"
Shortly after that, he was offered a contract by Hal Wallis at Warner Brothers. And the film that followed was titled: "Little Caesar."

My best to you and yours,

Kevin Cronin
Dear Francesca
In regards to all the movies in which Ed played the role of a gangster, do you know which was his favourite?

Response:   Dear Kevin,
Interesting question. He never expressed to me a favorite gangster performance.
One day we were watching "Little Caesar" together and he commented that he would 'now' have played Rico differently.
He always considered "Little Caesar" as a Greek Tragedy.

A Fan
Just received my Eddie poster ordered from this site and wanted to say how pleased I am with it. It's very impressive - thanks so much!

Hi Francesca,
Every 5 years, I must submit to a background investigation because of my position with the National Park Service. This last time I found myself surfing the internet for information that led me to your website. I know we have a mutual person in common. My mom died 10 years ago from lung cancer. I have been happily married for the past 5 yrs. and we both live and work in a beautiful national park. I am going to give you the date, June 7, 1966. I spoke to my father once when he called to tell me Happy New Year when I was 7 yrs. old.
I wish he could have lived longer.
I hope you will contact me - I will send you my e-mail via the yahoo address you have posted earlier.
