Hello, Francesca,

I am currently reading your grandfather's autobiography and I was happy to find this website.

I am enjoying your grandfather's stories and asides very much, and can tell from his frequent references to you how very special you were to him. His comments about you always make me smile.

All my best,

Clementine

Mr. Sugiuchi: I saw the cherub in the film. Are you interested in selling it? If so, what price do you ask?

The wooden cherub I acquired is the one behind Mr. Robinson in his last scene in the movie. In the two previous scenes on this set; it appears that this cherub switched places on the fire-place mantel with the other one. This cherub is smiling while the other one is not.

To: Paul Lewis Sugiuchi, I think I qualify as one who appreciates good art, and my admiration for Robinson is unquestioned. I will look at my HOUSE OF STRANGERS for the sculpture. Acquiring it? I suppose it would depend on what you are asking for it.

Over 20 years ago I aquired a carved wood cherub holding a candle/torch at a Beverly Hills auction house that is no longer in business.
My households furniture and decorations has a figural motif and wanted to add this cherub to our collection.
Later I found painted under the stand, "20th Century Fox". I thought I remembered seeing it in a Barbara Streisand movie, but I was wrong.
Years later I saw it in House of Strangers on the fireplace mantel paired with another one.
And years later by chance I discovered the other cherub in Pasadena, but did not acquire it. Unfortunately its' stand and arm holding the torch were missing.
I hope some day this surviving sculpture will fall into the hands of a person that not only appreciates good art, but Edward G. Robinson as well.
