'Eddie Q & A' is an extraordinary site and resource. The questions are probing and well answered! I wanted to 'drop by' and say hello. (I'd love to think of a 'stumper' question; maybe I will.) Please call and we can catch up... --Bob

Response:   Dear Bob,
Thank you for the definitive resource on my grandfather. Robert Beck's "Edward G. Robinson Encyclopedia" (McFarland and Company Inc., Publishers) is an exhaustive, yet concise, compelling exploration of my granfathers career.
Thank you Bob!

Will be in touch soon..

Francesca

Hi Francesca,I recenly saw a movie The Big Leaguer and your uncle played as a scout of the NY giants during spring traning in melbourne florida. Im a big baseball fan and i wonder was he a baseball fan or perhaps he was a NY yankee fan?If he didnt like baseball what sports he loved and enjoyed watching the most?
10 March 2005 - Port St Lucie Florida

Response:   Dear Steve,
My grandfather absolutely loved baseball! Especially the Dodgers and Yankees...In fact, he enjoyed all sports.
(Basketball, football, The Olympics...)
Since he did not excel in sports, he more than made up for it with his fan support.

Go Dodgers!

Ms. Robinson-Sanchez,
Edward G. Robinson was my great uncle. I am related through his mother's side of the family. I would like to know how we are distantly related. My great grandmother and edward's mother were sisters, and that is my story. I would like to know more about you and your side of the family.

Response:   Dear David,
How nice to finally hear from you. Obviously, we should contact each other and get the details. I do get many "relatives" contacting me, and in just one case, they really were related.
However, hope springs eternal and once we look into the matter we shall see!
I become a widow at a young age. I have a wonderful son who graduated California Lutheran University last weekend with a degree in Political Science.
Love to hear about your side of the family also.

Sincerely,

Francesca

Hi Francesca,
I have recently come into possession of a painting identifies as follows:
plate three
PERE TANGUY (1887,PARIS)
Coll.Edward G.Robinson,Beverly Hills,Calif.25x19.
Not being an expert on art collectibles,I wonder if this is indeed from your father's collection?
02 March 2005 - Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada

Response:   Robert,
It sounds like what you have is a re-production of the original that was part of Eddie's first art collection.
Pere Tanguy (1887 Paris) was painted
by Van Gogh and his now part of the
Stavros Niarchos collection.

Thank you for your question,

Francesca
