Dear Francesca,
I read your grandfather's autobiography 'All My Yesterdays' about 3 years ago and could not put it down. It is the best written celebrity autobiography I've ever read (and I've read them all!). I came away from the book not only impressed with your grandfather's talent as an actor but also impressed with what an extraordinary human being he was. Eddie's warmth and generosity came through on every page.
It was obvious from the book that you were the center of his universe and that he adored you. I wondered how you were after reading the book and I am so happy you have presented this great web site. The Ravin Maven is the best classic movie site on the internet and you could not have partnered with anyone better for this project.
I agree with a previous post. Someday I hope you write about your grandfather.
Thank you,
Dina-Marie

Response:   Dear Dina Marie,
You are right! And he was quite a taskmaster, may I add...My homework had to be done and on time! Not only did he love his family, he also had deep compassion for humanity. And he stood up for what he believed in.
Grandpa was probably the biggest influence in my life. And a hard act to follow...
I've been approached many times about doing a book, someday I will...

Sincerely,

Francesca

I am extremely impressed by this website and all of its functionality. I never imagined that Mr. Edward Robinson had such an attractive granddaughter.
As it is very difficult to obtain quality copies of Mr. Robinson's films here in Lagos, I am among a minority who possess and regularly view his performances (among my favourites are 'The Cincinatti Kid,' 'The Red House,' and ' A 10 Foot Tall Boy.').
I am extremely happy to have access to persons who share my admiration of your grandfather's work.

Response:   Dear Dr. Obaseki,
Thank you for your kind words. By the way,
"A Boy 10 Feet Tall" was filmed in Nairobi. My grandfather had a heart attack while filming there
and recovered in London. While at the London clinic, he exchanged cigars with fellow patient - Winston Churchill.
He later resumed filming in Kenya.
It was one of my favorite films also.

The Red House scared me as a child due to the quicksand scene. But a very powerful movie.

The Cincinnati Kid was his favorite film in later years.
Thanks you for admiring his work.

Dear Francesca
I'm so glad to finally see you out here. I loved reading your grandfathers book and enjoyed the paintings he made of you. I often wondered what happened to those pictures and their subject. I hope someday you will write about your realtionship to EGR and fill in some of the gaps. He is my favorite all time actor.
Thanks for partnering with this site and sharing your photograph.

Response:   Dear Dave,
Thank you for your kind words.
I have the portrait and treasure it dearly. We are excited to begin looking into different options with my grandfather's image and filling in some of the gaps. We find partnering with Julie truly a joy!

Sincerely,

Francesca

I am visiting New York at the New Year and was wondering if there are any places of interest regading your grandfather as he is my favourite actor. Thank you.Jason Miller
01 December 2004 - Glasgow , Scotland

Response:   Hi Jason,
Thanks for your support of my grandfather.
His name is inscribed as Emanuel Goldenberg on the wall at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.
Under Sarah and Morris Goldenberg,
along with his five brothers.
Grandpa always said that the best show in town is at the Museum -try the Metropolitan Museum of Art and check out the French Impressionist collection.
Also, The Museum Of Modern Art was a favorite. He attended City College of New York and went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. (Similar to RADA in England) His photograph is posted there.

Thank you for your interest,

Francesca
