Dear Francesca
I'm so glad to finally see you out here. I loved reading your grandfathers book and enjoyed the paintings he made of you. I often wondered what happened to those pictures and their subject. I hope someday you will write about your realtionship to EGR and fill in some of the gaps. He is my favorite all time actor.
Thanks for partnering with this site and sharing your photograph.

Response:   Dear Dave,
Thank you for your kind words.
I have the portrait and treasure it dearly. We are excited to begin looking into different options with my grandfather's image and filling in some of the gaps. We find partnering with Julie truly a joy!

Response:   Hi Jason,
Thanks for your support of my grandfather.
His name is inscribed as Emanuel Goldenberg on the wall at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.
Under Sarah and Morris Goldenberg,
along with his five brothers.
Grandpa always said that the best show in town is at the Museum -try the Metropolitan Museum of Art and check out the French Impressionist collection.
Also, The Museum Of Modern Art was a favorite. He attended City College of New York and went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. (Similar to RADA in England) His photograph is posted there.

Thank you for your interest,

Francesca, When my children were born, they both had these puffy eyes and I my first words were 'Edward G. Robinson'. They do not know who your Grandfather was. I looked on the Internet but he does not have those eye's in the pictures (though they are very much like Barbre eye's). Where could I get a picture of him with those puffy eyes. It would explain a lot.

I want to know if your grandfather Edward was related to family Perretta from Francavilla Sul Sini, Basilicata, Italy. I was told that he was related to

Response:   Dear Graciela,
My grandfather's family (on both his mother's and father's side) traces back several generations to Romania.
He visited Italy many times to make movies and truly loved the country and the Italian people.
Among my most cherished memories is the summer I spent in Rome with him
during the filming of "Operation San Pietro" in the late 60's.
During breaks in the filming, grandpa would show me around the country.
It was truly a wonderful time..
Thank you for your question.

According to family legend, we may be related to EGR through Rabbi Shulem Goldenberg of Svaliava, UKR, my father's home town. Francesca, can you please contact me. I have a lot of genealogical information.
