Edward G. Robinson bought a painting called "Mother" at a Barnsdale Art Show in 1959 by the artist Jeanne Cancelleri (my mother) I am sorry to bother you, but I would give anything to locate this painting now that I am a mom, and my mother can no longer paint. I don't think you will have any idea where it is now, but if you do know where it is, its a woman and child painting, and I would love to just see a photo of it.VERY, very, Sincerely, Jodie

Dear Francesca,
At the beginning of 2006, you replied to my question about Anna Mahler on your message board. At the end you indicated that you might be in touch with me with some stories for my book. I am hoping that this is still going to be possible. Can I ask what would be the best way to communicate with you about this?
The site is terrific, by the way . I have learnt a great deal about your grandfather, too, who good friends with Alma Mahler-Werfel in Los Angeles.
all the very best,
Greg

To Christy/Christopher Byrne: I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Great! /// To Ms. Whipple: How privileged you were to meet and know Edward G. Robinson. I am so envious!

I fist met your grandfather in the spring of 1930 when I was in school in Cannes. Your grandfather, who was a close friend of my father, Monroe M. Goldstein, sent for me to have lunch with him at the Negresco Hotel in Nice. I remember his showing me how to cut a deck of cards in half with his hands. Subsequently during the 2 summers (1938 & 1939) when I visited my father, Monroe M. Goldstein, who had bought an old farm house in a secluded canyon at the end of Beverly Drive, I was a frequent guest of Eddie and his wife Gladys in their beautiful home, which was not far away. I have a few vivid memories of their very warm hospitality and Eddie's extraordinary art collection.
