Hey, Frank, I spoke with Francesca. I believe she has a contact for James Robert Parish and maybe you can connect with him. Also, the messages are to be restored, hopefully, with the aid of the webmistress. Regarding your search for that Robinson film, any other clues, maybe an idea who other players were, the studio, anything else that could help zero in? I looked at THE GLASS WEB again and it doesn't seem a very good match. Nor does SMART MONEY. We're trying. --Bob

Francesca and/or Bob:
As you have already noticed and have already tried to help, I have been trying to find the name of an EGR film
--wherein is contained the scene which I have already described. I was wondering if either of you, or someone else might know where I might be able to contact 2 of the authors which you list under the merchandise section of your web site--Alvin Maril and James Robert Parrish. That way I could expand the search of the scene that stuck in my mind 30 years ago--and maybe I will get "lucky" and one of them might remember. Thanks for all of your attempts to help up to this point. If I find out the answer by myself, I will e-mail you back and tell you the answer. Frank

Frank Hendricks: From the added details it seems typical of the early '30's with brassy blonde and "Oh, baby," but none of those films come to mind. He was partial to blondes in SMART MONEY (1931) but I just don't recall the scene or moment. In that one he plays a gambler, co-starring with James Cagney. It's a possibility.

To Bob Beck: Thanks for your leads. I have not had a chance to check them out yet. But a few other details of the restaurant scene came back to me. EGR had his famous cigar in his mouth.
When his bleached blone girl friend started to cry and "carry on", he pulled the cigar out of his mouth and said, "OH Baby, please don't cry. You're breakin' my heart." He handed her some money from his roll of cash and said, "Here, go powder your nose!"
Maybe that additional detail will jog something loose from your memory or someone else's. Thanks for your help.
