Robert Beck | @ Re Philip Reihl's inquiry about the plot of a film with plants watered with blood: very sorry, but I'd bet it hasn't anything to do with Edward G. Robinson; so I'm stumped. As you pointed out in an earlier message, Francesca, EGR's only science fiction film was SOYLENT GREEN, his final one (unless one counts NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND EYES (1948) and FLESH AND FANTASY (1943), but of course, they're more occult-themed. THE BRIGHT SHAWL survives; it played at the Lillian and Dorothy Gish (annual) Film Festival in Massilon, Ohio, (the Gish birthplace) in 2003. An excellent print and fine film! I admire him as an actor and after reading "all my yesterdays" very much admire him as the wonderful man he seemed to be. His words spoke to me in so many ways. I have made it a lifelong quest to see every film he was ever in, I am about 65% there, My question is are the silent films that he was in "arms and the woman" "the Bright Shawl" still in existance or are they destroyed?
