Hi my brother-in-law's family has a family legend that includes a common grandparent namely EGR. My brother-in-law does not know of the legitimacy of his grandmothers claim. I am inquiring on his behalf since he is currantly 70 and has diabetes and may want to confirm or deny the family legend before he gets to elderly or sick. Perhaps you would care to return a response to discuss what you may be willing to do or not. Best case scenario would be for you that you may be able to confirm two grandsiblings. Waiting for your reply hope to hear from you soon.

Dear Eddie Q&A, Wonder if you can help me with this enquiry? I have in my collection a Cigarette/Cigar case that is covered in Shagreen, it is made by Dunhill London and also made in England. It has an engraved personnel message inside that says 'To Eddie from EGR', could this have once belonged to Edward G Robinson at some time, i believe it is about 1930's or 1940's ? Any information would be very appreciated, as i know i have read that some of his possesions were auctioned off a few years ago. Many Thanks john.

Franchesca, I just wanted to add my word of appreciation for your grandfather. I knew him and Gladys through my uncle Mendel Silberberg, Eddie's lawyer, and occasions when they still lived on Rexford. In later years I also became acquainted with Jane, and ended up building the art gallery on Sunset Blvd., which they whimsically named "Giraffe Gallery". When your granddad (and Jane) went to Norway, to film "The Song of Norway", they tasked me with hosting the gallery opening, supported by their assistant, Penny. That was some experience! I also had to 'hang' the gallery for the opening. Your granddad was a super guy, in my experience. My dad was a cinematographer, at Columbia for 30 years, and then at Desilou for another 8. I also worked on pictures, as a bandleader and musician, after the end of the Big-Band years, with MCA managing. I tell you this simply to let you know that I had been around the industry since my childhood, knew many of the people, to whom I am comparing your granddad. Most of the people I knew there also had the same high opinion of him. Best Regards, Josef Citron

Hello Francesca. I am yet another Goldenberg relative of your Grandfather, via Niece? of Morris-Ruth Goldenberg, I believe. We always referred to your grandfather as uncle Eddie. He apparently, attended my father's bar mitzvah in 1948. Anyhow, I'd love to figure out the relationship. Thanks.
