Fred dances in a cheerful, springy, energetic way that no other dancer - no, not even Gene Kelly - has reached. Among my favourites are "Swing Time" and "Top Hat". Eventually I became a film journalist and have during the years written a lot of articles abour Fred and his films. This site, wich I found first today, is a lovely tribute to the wonderful Fred Astaire and all his lovely partners. Since 2004 I myself am writing about films, actors and directors from Hollywood´s Golden Age (1932-56) at a Swedish film site called russin.nu - only for Swedish speaking film lovers, I am afraid. But there you all are welcome to read about Astaire, but also Gable, Flynn, Wayne an many others. I am a born Swede but did choose my signature "Hazzan" in Swedish papers and magazines already in the early fifties. Fred was absolutely the most charming, urbane, witty, adorable, talented figure on the silver screen.
