I have always loved Fred Astaire. I have always thought I was born 50 yrs too late. I watch his movies over and over and never can get enough of his sheer genius. The romance in his movies always bring a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes. His dance numbers, the way he interprets romantic songs and his handsome, yes HANDSOME face will always haunt my dreams! I know the world will never see anyone like him again. I heart Fred forever! Great website! Wonderful Graphics! I like!

I would like to invite all fans of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to join in the efforts to promote them in 2009. 2009 marks the 75th anniversary of their first starring film "Gay Divorcee" and the 110th birthday of Fred Astaire. Several of us have started work on this in NY, Washington DC, NJ, Idaho, CA and England. But we need more ideas, more locations and more events. We would like to have the celebrations world wide and in as many media as possible: For example : film, TV, radio, dance and music performances, live events, web discussions and performances, books and picture exhibits, plaques commemorating sites of importance, etc. The events do not have to be big, but of course we would like to get as much publicity as possible. Please use your imagination. We want everyone to be aware of Astaire and Rogers films throughout 2009.

I am joining all of you in paying tribute to one of God's most talented children, Fred Astaire. I am also feeling that I have a little crush on his movie persona. Now, is there anyone who has a copy of "A Damsel In Distress," or could tell me where to purchase it? I am continuing to search online, but am hoping I won't be disappointed permanently in my hope to see this film. Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
