I was about 6 years old when I first saw "A Tale of Two Cities" and was struck by the delicacy even at that young age of Ronald Colman's performance. He was and remains the only Sidney Carlton!

Although TCM has still not featured Ronald Colman as a star of the month, on October 6 they showed four of his movies in a row -- Raffles, Cynara, The Devil to Pay and Kismet. I had seen all except The Devil to Pay -- I watched them all. The Devil to Pay is a charming trifle from 1930 with Loretta Young as Mr. Colman's love interest. I was delighted to see so many of his movies in one day.

What an actor. . . what a voice! One of my favorite actors. My namesake by way of my mother's adoration for this charming man. Admired by my father as well, who had grown a "Coleman" mustache, and was my mother's most adored " other leading man".

I have enjoyed so many of Ronald Colman's movies. Most notably, Random Harvest which was played today on TCM. No matter the number of times I watch this movie I am moved to tears at the end. Greer Garson & Ronald Colman are fabulous today. What a magnificent voice this man had & a very expressive face. We should all be grateful for the gift of his work!
