Bluebeard's Eighth Wife (1938)
Typical Ernst Lubitsch, perhaps not quite as sparkling as some of the director's work, but good nevertheless. Pretty hard to go wrong when it also has a screenplay by Billy Wilder and Charles Brackett. Gary Cooper is a multimillionaire who changes wives about as often as he changes shirts - he's wound up marriage #7 when he meets Claudette Colbert, daughter of an impoverished Marquis (Edward Everett Horton). A very young David Niven is also on hand, as sort of a human punching-bag.
