The Breaking Point   (1950)


Taken from the Hemingway story "To Have and Have Not", this one's quite a lot truer to the book than the Bogie-Bacall movie. John Garfield plays boat captain Harry Morgan, who takes on some very dangerous jobs when he's about to go broke.  Phyllis Thaxter plays his wife, Patricia Neal the femme fatale.
