The Canterville Ghost   (1944)


Well done comedy of a cowardly ghost (Charles Laughton) forced (for the past 300+ years) to haunt an English mansion until his family's name is cleared by a noble deed committed by an ancestor.  Robert Young's an American GI stationed at the haunted mansion, Margaret O'Brien is the spunky young Lady of the house.
